If you love winter sports, this village is perfect for you: the Andermatt ski area, one of the best of the Alps, consists of 120km of slopes. The ski area is made of two separate parts: Nätschen, 1842m, with easier slopes, and Gemsstock, 2961m, for more expert skiers. In the latter is possible to ski from 3000m and reach the village at 1447m, thanks to the intermediate and advanced slopes. Easier tracks can be found at 2344 m on the Gurschenalp, above Nätschen.
As said before, Andermatt is very fascinating also during the warmer season. During summer the 18 holes golf course attracts golf lovers from all around the world. The ecologically – designed course, situated adjacent to the village, is perfectly set in the spectacular natural surroundings. The course is 1.3 million meters square large, over 6 kilometers long and designed to international tournament standards. The course was designed by the renowned architect Kurt Rossknecht and is one of the most attractive golf courses in the Alps.
